Acknowledgement of Country Nafs Counselling is located on the land of the Gadigal and Eora Nation peoples and as such we would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians and pay our respect to their elders past and present. We would also like to acknowledge that this land was never ceded and of Australia's First People's rights to constitutional recognition.

Nadine personally acknowledges the Cabrogal people in the area that is the South Western Sydney of New South Wales, Australia, where she lives. The name “Cabrogal” derives from the Dharug word ‘cabro’ or ‘cohbra,’ referring to an aquatic woodworm, a delicacy once abundant in the rivers of their land. The term ‘gal’ means ‘men,’ while the female suffix is ‘galyon,’ a reflection of the distinct roles within the community. The Cabrogal people are the original inhabitants of the Liverpool area, where the Georges River and Cabramatta Creek meet. This region, known as Gunyungalung, has been their home for up to 40,000 years, with the Georges River forming a natural boundary between the Darug, or “wood tribes,” and their neighbours, the Tharawal, or “coast tribe.” Growing up in Liverpool and now conducting business in this area, I deeply appreciate the rich history and enduring connection of the Cabrogal people to this land. I pay my respects to their Elders—past, present, and emerging—and acknowledge their ongoing stewardship of the land and waters. Let us honor their cultural heritage and continue to walk with respect for the Country that has sustained the Cabrogal people for thousands of years.
