Complimentary Consultation and Appointment Policy

Complimentary 15-Minute Consultations

    • Complimentary consultations are offered as a courtesy to allow prospective clients to ask initial questions, briefly discuss their needs, and determine whether Nafs Counselling may be suitable for them. They are not counselling sessions.

One Complimentary Consultation Per Person

    • Each person is ordinarily entitled to one complimentary consultation only.
    • A complimentary consultation that has been reserved for you and subsequently missed, not confirmed, or not attended is considered to have used your complimentary consultation opportunity.
    • There is no automatic entitlement to another free consultation.

Confirmation Is Required

    • Clients must respond to the appointment confirmation/reminder by answering YES or NO regarding attendance.
    • Where confirmation is requested and no response is received, Nafs Counselling reserves the right to cancel the appointment and offer the time to another client.

Missed Complimentary Consultations

    • If you fail to attend a complimentary consultation without prior notice, another complimentary consultation will generally not be offered.
    • Where a client:
        • contacts the counsellor after the missed appointment;
        • acknowledges and apologises for the missed appointment; and
        • provides a genuine or reasonable explanation for being unable to attend,
        • the counsellor may, at their discretion, offer one further complimentary consultation.
        • This is an exception rather than an entitlement.
        • The counsellor retains discretion regarding whether and when another complimentary consultation will be offered.
    • Paid counselling appointments take priority over rescheduling missed complimentary consultations.
    • Where another complimentary consultation is not offered, the client remains welcome to book a paid counselling appointment, subject to availability.

Email, Junk and Spam Folders

    • Clients are responsible for ensuring the contact information provided through the client portal is accurate and for monitoring appointment correspondence.
    • As advised through the client portal, clients should check their:
        • Inbox;
        • Junk folder;
        • Spam folder; and
        • any automatic email filtering or categorisation.
    • Nafs Counselling is not responsible where correspondence has been sent to the email address supplied by the client but is redirected to Junk/Spam, filtered by the client’s email provider, or otherwise not seen by the client.
    • Failure to see an email does not automatically entitle the client to a replacement complimentary consultation.
